Leaked stills and videos from Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’ circulated online

Rajinikanth starrer Petta is one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema. The shooting of this film has been progressing in various locations in the northern parts of India creating big expectation levels. Recently, a few stills from Petta shooting spot were leaked online creating a buzz.

Despite the best efforts of the team, the leaks have been happening at regular intervals, thwarting the surprise factor and irking the filmmakers. Some pics of Rajinikanth sporting a retro style look has surfaced online creating a furor among its makers and fans.

It may be mentioned here that the security on the sets was beefed up earlier after some pics were leaked. In spite of this, the pics seem to have found its way online again.

In a tweet, Director Karthik Subburaj has requested fans not to share the leaked stills and videos. “Kind request from #Petta team.. Pls do not share leaked stills or videos from shooting Spot..Need all your support. Shocked to see channels like @ThanthiTV are publishing leaked video as news.Guess next they would even telecast pirated movies as news… Completely Unethical,” he wrote.

Directed by Karthik Subburaj, Petta is being bankrolled by Kalanidhi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures. The film has Vijay Sethupathi playing an important role and this is the first time he is sharing the screen space with Rajinikanth.

In the star cast of this film are Simran, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan, Megha Akash, Bobby Simha and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as well playing important roles. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the tunes for this gangster actioner with Tirru cranking the camera and Vivek Harshan being in charge of the editing.

The rest of the technical crew include Peter Hein from stunt choreography, Suresh Selvarajan for production designing, Kunal Rajan as sound designer, Niharika Khan and Praveen Raja as costume designers, and Baba Bhaskar and Sheriff for dance choreography. Petta will also require a lot of computer graphics for which Prime Focus has been signed up to take care of its VFX.

The shooting of Petta is happening at a good pace with plans to have it released as a Pongal treat for movie buffs.
